Chocolate Brownie is an American cuisine dessert. It is also said to be the easiest dessert for a beginner in baking.
A chocolate brownie is a cross between a cake and a cookie; it is interesting to note that the final output depends on the interplay of the ingredients-white flour and cocoa powder. There are 2 types of brownies- cakey brownie and fudgy brownie. A cakey brownie has more of white flour and less cocoa while a fudgy brownie has more of cocoa powder than white flour. Additionally, you may also play with the type of nuts to be added.
Here, I have recreated an eggless fudgy brownie with walnuts in a microwave. And it was a super-duper hit among my folks! Try it and tell me about yours! 🙂
Makes 15 pieces
100g dark chocolate
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp yogurt
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup white flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup walnuts, crushed
Step 1: Melt together dark chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Remove from flame and wipe off the condensation droplets from the base of the bowl.
Step 2: Whisk together yogurt, powdered sugar, baking powder, baking soda and vanilla essence in a separate bowl. Set aside.
Step 3: Mix Step 1 and Step 2 together. Give it a good stir with a spatula.
Step 4: Sieve together white flour and cocoa powder. Add it to the mixture above. Whisk so that the ingredients are well incorporated. Do not over-whisk as it would allow air bubbles to enter the mixture which would result in a cakey output.
Step 5: Now add the crushed walnuts to the above. Mix well.
Step 6: Grease a baking tin with butter and heat for 2 minutes in the Microwave. Pour the brownie mixture into it and cook on Micro High for 8 minutes.
Step 7: Allow it to cool to room temperature. Serve it in the shape you prefer. I scooped out 15 pieces using an ice cream scoop.
Step 8: Dust some powdered sugar and serve hot or chilled!
